GIRLS' FIRE MISSION
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
*The game is free! The donation feature was added to have the download button at the top.
(Though I wouldn't mind if donations were given).
**(EDIT) Developer note: The first (and only) mission of the game is designed to be close to unwinnable, but it's possible to eliminate all enemies.
The story so far:
Set in a fictional world, an unexpected assault comes in from the far north. in a desperate attempt, katla must defend and hold the front... alone?
About the game:
Girls' Fire Mission is a unique and experimental 2d action game that follows the story of a mortar team going through a major conflict.
You play as the mortar team, composing of Katla and two other characters (that have yet to be announced), who will have to work through the motions of operating a mortar to provide fire support or to defend key positions, even in the most desperate of times.
Hang it - fire!
Adjust elevation and traversal to correct your aim, then fire the mortar shells!
Be sure to hang it before firing!
Controls:
- WSAD - Control Elevation and Traversal
- Left Click/Left Ctrl - Hold to half load, release to fire
- Esc - Pauses game and opens up menu

Plans for the game:
The game is in its pre-alpha/prototype stage, only showcasing and giving some idea of the game mechanics. It has been uploaded for the enjoyment of others, and to determine the level of interest in this type of game.
If there is enough interest in the game, the project will continue development with the following features in mind:
- More enemy types, including tanks (and they'll be moving this time)
- Option to switch ammunition types for specific situations
- Using mils instead of degrees for adjusting aim, adding more immersion (you didn't think the game was going to be that easy, did you?)
- More missions with different objectives
- Option to add "charges", which will increase firing ranges
- More characters and story
- Simple Animated cutscenes
- Voice overs
- and much more!
So if you find the game interesting, consider rating the game and leaving comments! (so that I'll know how many are interested in this)

This is pretty good, Is it still being Developed though as I want to actaully see where this goes XD
Thanks! It is still under development but unfortunately progress will be quite slow; there are plenty of things behind the scenes that need a lot of untangling for the long run (fixing up code, art direction changes, etc)
That said, i would expect the next update to be up hopefully within a month or so
thats great, take your time, Fixing the issues and Spaghetti code is maybe the best thing to do at this stage lol XD
Will wait for the next update never the less, good luck.
Quite solid, I like the main loop and the contrast between mortars and uh...anime girls.
There are some things that detracted from the experience (other than the obvious), I wish there was some visible change with the mortar, which doesn't need to necessarily give everything away but just make Katla look like she's not fondling a rock.
The resolution didn't adjust on my screen, looks like it was made for a much larger screen but there wasn't any automatic resolution adjustment (or if there was some settings screen, I couldn't see it since the menu text was off-screen...weirdly the buttons were offscreen but the BG wasn't).
Oh yeah, the mission is impossible, which is fine if it's just some testing.
Overall, pretty solid gameplay concept with some good art, excited to see where this goes, this definitely has an audience (one who didn't know they were its audience, but are definitely its audience).
Thank you for your feedback! Glad to see there is some interest in the game.
Yeah, there are quite a number of notable visual issues within the game that takes away the experience, and that also includes the resolution problems (Had some people try out the game upon release, they've been notifying me about it).
These issues (along with some others) are currently at the top of the priority list, and the bugfix will be resolved in the upcoming updates!
